What makes our Animals Different?

Dare to compare! We are a closed flock and herd and we strive for perfection in health, conformation, milk quality and production, heat, parasite and disease resistance and of course,  delightful temperaments!Even though we are a closed herd and flock we test EVERY animal on our property annually, not just the ones we are selling! Our animals are and have always been CAE/OPP, CL, Johne's, Brucellosis, Q-Fever, and Tuberculous  NEGATIVE.

Years ago we picked our genetics very carefully from only the best we could find, sparing no expense to make our foundational herd and flock truly amazing. We then worked with some of the finest ruminant universities to develop a multi stage feed formula that is delicately balanced for each stage of their precious lives. We mix our grain 3 =4 times per week to maintain its freshness.  We love all our animals just like family and always feed Non-GMO and when accessible, organic. We believe it makes a difference and our veterinarians, ferrier and most certainly, our clients agree they are exceptional!

We took years researching the breeds we ultimately wanted to have for our farm and dairy. We wanted first, the strongest, most resistant to disease, parasites and heat and lastly but certainly very importantly, amiable dispositions. We then selected 6 breeds, 2 in each group.  (2 goat, and 2 sheep  and 2 miniature  cows) We then looked for the best representation of their breed in health, conformation and production.  We made our decision: Lamancha and Nigerian Dwarf goats and French Lacaune and Awassi. ,  Irish  Dexter  and   Mini-Jersey .  We are so very happy we did!! We have embarked on our own endeavor we call the Merveileux Project. We have taken these fine sheep breeds and selectively crossed the Lacaune with the Awassi in an attempt to harness the best of both breeds. Please follow along our journey! Already we have some wonderful F1 Merveileux on the ground!

Our animals are only the beginning because thats where the milk starts .. with them! What goes in will most certainly come out in the milk! As we've said, we strive to feed as organically as possible and ALWAYS Non-GMO. We drink the milk and eat the cheese and yogurt and we believe we offer truly some of the finest tasting and most nutritious dairy products! That is our mantra of our A-2 Riffic Creamery; Taste, Balance, Nutrition.

Come not only see but taste the difference.

You won't find Finer

Our amazing farm is one of 10 farms in ALL of North America that was chosen to be part of an International project to restore the pure French Lacaune breed of dairy sheep to the United States and Canada. It is because Divine Providence Farm offers one of the most meticulously maintained flocks presented for consideration. Our high percentage Lacaune combined with the NEW 100% pure rare French Lacaune imported genetics are just the beginning of this wonderful project! Along with the Lacaune Project, we are part of the pioneering effort to introduce to the US to one of the most ancient of dairy sheep, dating back to biblical times, the Awassi. The only breed known to be in the Middle East at the time of Christ's birth! Imagine getting to look upon the breed that Christ did and taste the rich milk the shepherds brought to the Holy Family in the stable!

Since there is no registry for the Awassi, We had all our Awassi DNA tested for purity through one of the most notable authorities in Sheep genetics, determining they are in fact full-blooded.

Along side of our dairy sheep flock we have our small herd of the healthiest and most beautiful ADGA registered Grand National Champion, superior genetics lines of Nigerian Dwarf and  Lamancha dairy goats! The sweetest milk and sweetest dispositions!

Meet our Sheep and Goat Breeds

Awassi

Our own developed breed: Merveilleux

French Lacaune

The Awassi is one of the oldest and most regal dairy breeds still in existence. These magnificent sheep are very rare in the US and we have some of bloodlines that are from of the ancient true Awassi, we know because we had their DNA matched by the foremost authority lab in the world for sheep genetics .

This beautiful breed is the trifecta of sheep: Milk, meat and wool.

French Lacaune

Our own developed breed: Merveilleux

We are privileged to be one of 10 farms in all of Northern America to be chosen to be the recipient of the 100% French Lacaune dairy Sheep genetics from none other than Roquefort ,France!  The ONLY breed to authentically be allowed to make Roquefort Cheese!

Watch our products page when that will happen along with the goat milk cheeses from our dairy goats too!!

Temporarily not breeding

Unfortunately, I have sustained a major injury and am not breeding any sheep or goats at this time. I will post on this banner again when I have been able to recover (can be 2 yrs) and will have animals available  and sheep milk. We do have small amounts of goat milk available.
